The Climate Risk Framework aims to help us prepare for more frequent and intense natural hazards.
When we prepare together and support each other, our whole community is stronger and safer.
Extreme heat, drought, wildfires, severe storms, heavy rainfall and flooding are becoming more common.
Locally, natural hazards can damage our buildings, roads and crops and affect our physical and mental health. Natural hazards also have far-reaching impacts, such as smoke from distant forest fires affecting air quality here at home.
What can you do right now?
Get prepared now for major local emergencies.
An Emergency Preparedness Checklist was mailed to all Central Saanich homes with the September 2026 Community Focus newsletter.
Please take a few minutes to review the card. It includes important phone numbers, a simple checklist to help you prepare and instructions for emergency situations in our community.
Keep the card somewhere visible, like your fridge, and save a photo to your phone. Make sure everyone in your home can easily find this information if they need it.
Emergency Preparedness Checklist
